NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — He’s been serving as both a police sergeant and musical talent for the Metro Police Department for years. Now, Sgt. Henry Particelli has a new song in the wake of the death of George Floyd.
"The first words were ‘I cried for you today and I don't know you’, cause I have, I've shed many tears over these events and a lot of us have," Sgt. Particelli said.
The song “Your Name” is Particelli’s way of humanizing the job of law enforcement. The song has even gotten the attention of country music icon Garth Brooks.
"He said, that's an amazing song, so you know the songwriter?” friend Juanita Copeland said. “I said ‘yes I do, he's a Metro Police officer’ And he stood up and he said, ‘oh, he has to release this song, Juanita.’"
Some of Nashville’s top music industry leaders helped Sgt. Particelli with donated studio time and creating the music video.
